Last year 33,000 children were taking into care in 2023 according to the Department for Education, however we believe this number to be larger than what is reported.
1 in every 100 children are 'looked after' children in the UK. Currently their are around 12.7M children in the UK, every one of them are at risk of falling victim to social services.
Children in care today
83,840 this time last year
Children adopted in 2024
We have that figure close to 12,000

This is before they turn 25 years old

Remembering Brian Clare: A Tireless Champion for Children's Rights
We mourn the heart-breaking loss of Brian Clare, a courageous advocate, a compassionate voice, and a true defender of children's rights.
Brian dedicated his life to protecting vulnerable children and speaking out against abuse, injustice, and neglect. His tireless campaigning helped bring attention to the voices that too often go unheard. Through his work, he not only changed policies but changed lives, inspiring countless others to stand up and make a difference.
Even in the face of adversity, Brian remained steadfast, never giving up on his belief that every child deserves safety, dignity, and a chance at a better future. His legacy will continue to live on in the many lives he touched and the awareness he brought to issues that matter so deeply.
We were proud to have Brian as a team member here at the Masked Truth...
We extend our deepest sympathies to Brian's loved ones and all who were impacted by his strength, kindness, and determination.
Rest in peace, Brian. Your light will never be forgotten
Milton Keynes City Council’s high-profile recruitment campaign, which offers a £6,000 ‘Golden Hello’ to newly hired social workers, is under intense scrutiny from The Masked Truth News. The anonymous group, dedicated to exposing failures within social services, alleges the scheme is ripe for abuse and may already have been exploited.
Originally introduced to address urgent staffing shortages in Children’s Social Care, the bonus has drawn national attention — and now criticism. According to The Masked Truth, multiple whistleblowers from within the council have shared concerns about questionable hiring practices, inadequate vetting, and bonus payments made to individuals who failed to remain in their posts for the required term.
In a statement The Masked Truth said:
“This is not about attracting talent, it’s about inflating numbers and gambling with public trust. If even one vulnerable child is affected by a rushed or dishonest hire, the damage is irreparable.”
The Masked Truth also claimed to have accessed documents suggesting that some hires may have falsified qualifications or accepted the bonus with no intention of long-term employment.
Despite efforts to contact Milton Keynes City Council directly, The Masked Truth reported that no one was available to comment. The council has not publicly addressed the group’s claims, though it has previously defended the scheme, stating that the bonus is issued in stages and tied to clear conditions.
As public pressure builds, local officials are calling for an independent audit of the recruitment process. Meanwhile, The Masked Truth has promised further revelations if the council fails to respond transparently, stating, “We are watching and we are not alone.”
The situation has sparked growing concern among families and social care professionals, as questions rise about whether a well-meaning initiative has been compromised by oversight failures and accountability gaps.
